Anna University Engineering Students who joined in 2010 and earlier can write exams in 2018
Anna University has decided to give a one-time exemption from its
earlier decision to disallow students who joined in 2010 and earlier from
taking up arrear exams.
Previously, University announced the Notification mentioning that
No more attempts will be provided for those who joined Engineering In the year
2010 & before. The reason given for implementing the norm was that
conducting arrear examinations for a long period of time affected the regular
academic schedule and curtailed vacation time for regular students. When the
university released the timetable for the November/ December semester, it did
not contain details of exams for students of those who had joined in 2010 and
before. As requested by Students & their parents, they have revised
the previous notification and extended the period.
Minister for Higher Education K.P. Anbalagan said on 27th
September 2017 that the government has granted an extension to the students on
humanitarian grounds. “Students are generally given a maximum of seven years to
finish their arrears and complete their degree. However, those who have
exhausted this window will be permitted to write their examination for only two
semesters — sometime around February 2018 and August 2018 — as a special case,”
he said.
Mr. Anbalagan further said that there were approximately around
40,000 students who had joined in 2010 and before who had to clear their
arrears. “As no further chance will be given to students from the category, they
should utilize this opportunity and take utmost care to clear all the
subjects,” he added.
TIME TABLE FOR ANNA UNIVERSITY B.E/B.TECH 2004, 2008 & 2010 REGULATION STUDENTS
A schedule
for the arrear examinations and details of registration for the subjects,
including the process to pay examination fees, will be announced at a later
date and the exam will be conducted at one centre in every district. Separate
Examination Time Table will be announced for the Students who joined
Engineering till 2010.

But great job man, do keep posted with the new updates.
Thank you,
